The 2025-2026 cohort of the Preaching Fellows arrives from a cross section of denominations and traditions:

  • American Association of Lutheran Churches

  • Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ)

  • Church of the Lutheran Brethren

  • Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches

  • The Episcopal Church

  • Evangelical Lutheran Church in America

  • Independent Baptist Church

  • Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod

  • Nondenominational Church

  • Presbyterian Church USA

  • United Methodist Church

In spite of their different backgrounds, each one is committed to delivering a keen-edged word from God that points to Christ's benefits given from the cross to all those L-word sinners (with a nod to Robert Farrar Capon): the last, the least, the lost, the leper, the languishing, the (l)broken, the (l)dying, and the (l)dead.

The Iowa Preachers Project at Grand View University gratefully partners with Mockingbird and is the recipient of generous funding from the Compelling Preaching Initiative of Lilly Endowment Inc.
